Neeraj Madhav – Actor
Neeraj Madhav is one of the young south indian actor who predominantly acts in Malayalam film industry. He is a good dancer and a choreographer. He started his journey in the industry as an actor through the film Buddy, directed by Raaj Prabavathy Menon. He is present in the industry from 2013.
Neeraj Madhav was born in Kozhikode,Kerala. He was born to a family that had no film background, his father Madavan is a veterinary doctor while his mother Latha is a school teacher. Neeraj has a younger brother names Navaneeth, who is child artist in Mollywood and appeared in the films such as Manikyakallu, Shikkar etc, Navaneeth became popular after appearing in a Television serial titled Kuttichathan aired on Asianet. Neeraj completed his schooling from St. Joseph BHSS, Kozhikode.
He was very crazy about the music of A R Rahman and dance of Prabhu Deva. He had learned classical dance during his childhood, now he is a contemporary dancer. He was one among the finalist in the reality show Super Dancer, which was aired on Amrita channel. After that he had chosen the way of art rather than choosing a profession like his parents, so he take graduation in Visual communication from Sri Ramaswami Memorial University, Tamil Nadu. During his college days, Neeraj had done choreography for inter-college programs and thus he earned his pocket money. After graduation he joined in School of Drama and Fine Arts, where he completed his PG course.
He had entered into the industry be appearing in the audition, director Raaj Prabavathy impressed his performance and finally cast him to the film. After that he has done many side-kick roles with almost all leading stars of Mollywood. He has done the choreography of the film Oru Vadakkan Selfie.
Neeraj Madhav made his debut in the industry through the movie Buddy, directed by Raaj Prabavathy Menon and which was released in 2013. Anoop Menon, Srikanth, Bhumika Chawla and Asha Sarath are in the lead roles, here Neeraj handled the role of Govindh. Unfortunately it did not make much impact at the box office.
Director Jeethu Joseph had noticed Neeraj and give a minor role in Memories (2013). The film features Prithviraj, Meghana Raj and Mia George are in the lead roles, Neeraj presented the role of an automobile mechanic, who appeared only in few minutes on the screen. Jeethu again gave an offer to Neeraj, but this time he got a good role and shared the screen with Mohanlal in Drishyam. Most of his scenes were with Mohanlal and the film gave him a breakthrough in his career. In the same year he had done a side -kick role in Sathyan Anthikad‘s film Oru Indian Pranayakadha.
In 2014, he appeared in the film such as 1983, Apothecary, Sapthamashree Thaskara and Homely Meals. In all of these, he presented the supporting role and which helped him to became popular among the audience.
Neeraj had wore the cap of a choreographer with the film Oru Vadakkan Selfie, directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan. The film features Nivin pauly, Aju Varghese and Manjima Mohan in the lead roles. Here Neeraj presented the character named Thankaprasad (Thankamma) and he did the choreography for the song Enne Thallendammava, which was a notable one in that thriller film.
As choreographer, he got many offers from the industry, but he only concentrates on his acting career. In 2017, he stepped into other platform of the industry, i.e, he scripted a movie titled Lavakusa, directed by Gireesh Mano. Neeraj handled the lead role in this movie along with his friend Aju Varghese.
